I absolutely love Costco.
From a price standpoint they're fantastic, they have a ton of variety and they're constantly bringing in new healthy items more than just seasonally...
almost on a weekly or biweekly basis. I cannot picture my life without a Costco membership card.
They have one of the best selections of protein powder, tons of fully cooked ready to "heat and serve" healthy items, the best deal for eggs and egg whites and so much more.
The only potential downside to stores like this is that you do have to shop in bulk. But for items like eggs and egg whites, frozen vegetables and frozen fruit you really can't beat it.
Also, I prefer to shop at the Costco in Portchester. The one in Yonkers is just way to crowded for me even on weekdays and I don't wanna catch a case!
Another "go-to" place for me.
I find BJ's to be "quieter" and less crowded even on weekends for whatever reason than Yonkers Costco.
I go to the Bj's in Tarrytown in Westchester.
It's the same type of "bulk buy" store like Costco or Sam's Club so choosing one of those 3 will save you tons of $$$ and time if you have the storage space.
BJ's is a winner for sure!
Whole Foods is pricey but if that's not an issue for you, it's a really nice experience.
Truth be told, I don't shop here often but when I do...
There's 2 items I love to pick up.
First, their cuts of meat are very "lean" - so organic sirloin or even ribeye steaks have less dietary fat than many other selections in other stores.
Their chicken and steak choices are fantastic!
The other item I come in here for that you can only find at Whole Foods (other than online) is the Better Bagel.
I go over how awesome this bagel is if you're on a diet so give this video a watch!
Other than Costco and BJ's, this is my FAVORITE store.
The downside is that it could be pricey with certain items but if price is not an issue...
The store has the best selection and variety of protein bars, protein shakes and protein powders...
great cuts of meat, although I generally buy most of my meat from BJ's or Costco because it's a better price.
But overall...I just love walking the aisles of Wegmans. I find myself here at least once a week!
Fantastic store! First of all, you cannot beat the price for a "non-bulk" type of "healthy" shopping experience.
Very similar to Wegmans (although much more price friendly), they have a great variety of lean meats that are leaner than you can find in most places.
They have a ton of fully cooked already seasoned prepared food (just read the label to see if it's "Coach Mitch Approved."
Trader Joe's also has some good vegetarian options as well.
The price is right and the staff is super friendly!
I'm not at Target most of the time, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much variety of healthy food they had and for a great price!
